Scott Jeschke’s Mimic – Thrilling, Mesmerizing, Re-Watchable Sci-Fi at its Best

Recently, director Scott Jeschke reached out to me, letting me know his new sci-fi short film, Mimic, just dropped on YouTube. I did what any self-respecting sci-fi fan would do and immediately went to YouTube.

That about sums up my reaction to Mimic. It’s a brilliant, sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat sci-fi thriller that’s so well done, you’ll want to watch it over and over. Everything about the film is on point: the acting, the story, the cinematography, and the audio (instrumentals and sound effects).

This is one short film I could see made into a feature film – it’s that good. Rather than just taking my word for it, see for yourself.

Oh, and do yourself a favor – watch Mimic on your 4k television for an even better experience.

Seth Comire

Seth is the self-proclaimed biggest sci-fi fan in the history (and future) of the entire known and unknown universe. He runs and the I Heart Sci-Fi podcast. He can be found in his dungeon of an office/studio most of the time. Other times he cannot be found because he is hiking in the woods and it's quite difficult to see anything in the woods unless you wear bright orange, which he does not.
